Last updated May 13, 2026Side A is a private, invite-only platform for vinyl listening sessions. We try to collect as little about you as we can while still running the service. This page explains what we collect, why, and what we don't do with it.
When you create an account or use Side A, we collect:
- Email address — for sign-in, account recovery, and session-related notifications.
- Display name — so other members know who’s in the room.
- Session history and RSVP data — which sessions you’ve hosted, requested, or attended.
- Anything you submit — album picks, session details, photos, reflections, and other content you choose to upload.
We use the information above to operate the platform — to authenticate you, surface sessions you can attend, notify hosts of RSVPs, send session-related reminders, and keep the service safe. That’s it.
We don’t sell your personal data. We don’t share it with advertisers. We don’t use it to build a profile of you for any third party. If we ever change that, we’ll tell you first and give you a chance to opt out or delete your account.
Side A uses Supabase for authentication, database, and file storage. Supabase processes and stores our data on infrastructure located in the United States. If you are outside the U.S., your data will be transferred there to be processed.
We use cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in. These are functional and required to use the service — there is no advertising tracker, no cross-site profiling. We may use lightweight, privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate.
You can update your display name and other profile details from your account page at any time. You can stop using the service at any time. You can ask us to delete your account and the personal data associated with it — see below.
Side A is for adults only. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we’ll remove it.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated “last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, a notification within the service.
To request deletion of your account and personal data, email hello@side-a.co from the address associated with your account. We'll confirm and process the request within a reasonable time. Some records may be retained after deletion for security or legal compliance.
